The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group, founded in 2008, is a Chicago-based organization responsible for creating diverse restaurant and bar concepts. Utopian Tailgate & Professor Pizza are two of our concepts located in Old Town at North & Wells at the foot of the historic Second City Theaters, which is also managed by the group. Utopian Tailgate is a high volume concept that is extremely busy throughout the summer featuring at 10,000 SF rooftop, while Professor Pizza is known for its family friendly atmosphere and bustling pre-theater crowds.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Restaurant and Bar Manager, five nights per week, with a typical shift lasting 10 hours. The Restaurant and Bar Manager will oversee daily operations, ensuring exceptional food and beverage service while maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include managing staff, training employees, coordinating schedules, and meeting sales goals. The role also involves handling customer inquiries, implementing effective communication strategies, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Essential Job Responsibilies:
- Exceptional Customer Service and Communication skills to build strong relationships with guests and team members
- Experience and knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including inventory management and quality control
- Training and team development skills to lead and motivate staff effectively
- Proven abilities in Sales and increasing revenue through innovative strategies
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proven management or leadership experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and evenings
- Ability to respond quickly to emails and work with technology to operate the company's standard operating procedures.
- A positive and motivating personality with a willingness to learn.
- Other duties will be assigned as needed

- Base salary of at least $65,000 per year plus quarterly performance based bonuses.
Qualifications, Education and Behavior:
- At least 23 years old
- 1 to 3 years of full-service, high-volume Managerial experience
- A Bachelor's or Associate's degree from any accredited university
- Ability to clearly communicate and write in English
- Ability to lead and motivate your team with an attitude of mutual respect
- Skilled in developing and maintaining Guest rapport through interaction and social media
- High-energy, Guest-focused approach to floor Management
