Marklund is seeking highly motivated and mission-centered individuals for the position of Respiratory Therapistat the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, IL. The hours for this position are Monday- Friday 8a-4p with an hourly rate of $38-$45/hr based on experience and qualifications. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements.

Who We Are:

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With two residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Responsibilities include:

• Directly cares for patients with needs requiring their clinical expertise and evaluates respiratory care rendered by all team
  members.

• Administers prescribed respiratory medications and treatments in accordance with approved respiratory techniques.

• Assists with care and activities of daily living of clients as required

• Consistently updates and abides by the care plan for each client.

• Initiates new plan of care when deemed necessary with new onset condition/diagnosis or change in condition.

• Attends staffing’s and family meetings as needed and requested by the supervisor.

Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

• Active licensure in the State of Illinois

• Experience with enteral feedings, ABI, suction machines, CPAP/Ventilators, pulse oximeters
