Physical Therapist Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Physical Therapist)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital
• Location: Urbana, Illinois 61801 (Illinois healthcare jobs)

• End Date: November 29, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2250 - $2310 per week

Physical Therapist Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy (required for PT jobs)
• Active Illinois Physical Therapist License (required)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist preferred (new graduates considered)

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Safely perform patient transfers using proper body mechanics
• Design and implement individualized physical therapy plans of care, including treatment goals, outcomes, and discharge planning
• Adjust patient care based on response and current clinical evidence
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members using effective teaching strategies
• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations using reliable and valid physical therapy methods
• Document patient care according to hospital and regulatory standards
• Screen patients to determine therapy needs and effectiveness of interventions
• Supervise and provide feedback to support personnel, including Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and rehab technicians
• Collaborate with patients, families, and medical team throughout the rehabilitation process
• Utilize standardized outcome measures to assess and report functional performance
• Communicate patient status, recommendations, and discharge plans clearly to the healthcare team
