Cardiovascular RN Travel Assignment – Unit Notes

Pre-Assignment Requirements

• 4 hours of billable computer modules are required by 7:00 AM on the Friday prior to the assignment start date .
• Modules are delivered Monday–Tuesday of the week before the assignment.
• The 4 billable hours should be added to the first week's timesheet .

Facility Overview

• Facility located near Springfield, Illinois .
• Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel Cardiovascular unit .
• One night shift position currently available.
• Illinois RN license required .
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required .
• Open-heart experience preferred .

Patient Population

• Post-PCI patients
• Post-coronary artery bypass (CABG) patients
• Congestive heart failure (CHF) patients

Required/Preferred Experience

• Open-heart experience preferred
• Experience pulling arterial sheaths preferred
• CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience highly preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience or higher preferred

Clinical Expectations

• RNs titrate drips: Yes
• Hospitalist/Intensivist coverage: 24/7 (physicians and nurse practitioners)
• Respiratory Therapy coverage: 24/7 in the ICU/PCU
• Respiratory equipment available: Full respiratory support, including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment

• Telemetry monitor technician: Yes
• RNs responsible for rhythm interpretation: Yes
• Telemetry system: Draeger
