Le Village, Old Route 66 is a new child-centric co-working space for parents in the western suburbs. We are located in Lyons, IL, just 10 minutes from Brookfield zoo. We are seeking a Lead Teacher for our Wobblers (15mo-2.5 years) classroom. About Us

Le Village offers co-working space with onsite childcare from 8 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. We offer a variety of flexible packages to accommodate families’ needs from two half days to five full days a week. Children spend their time in one of our three classrooms, Open Play space, and outdoor patio area while parents step away to an adjacent quiet space to work. They can pop in to check on their little ones as time allows, and we ask that they spend at least 45 minutes of one-on-one time with their child every three hours. We are not a traditional daycare; parents must remain on-site the entire time that their children are in Village Care.

Job Description

We offer fun activities and developmental learning opportunities for children while they are in Village Care. Your job as a Lead Teacher is to coordinate and lead these activities, help children transition from one part of the day to the next, and be a patient, positive role model. The curriculum is designed to allow you choice and flexibility without a lot of prep work so you can focus on being present with the little ones in your classroom. We have a Montessori inspired curriculum and utilize many early learning tools. Since parents are on site, it's also important that the candidate is comfortable with daily parent communication.

• Salary: $39K-48K depending on experience and education

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or Associate’s Degree in a related field with 1-2 years of experience or 2 years Lead Experience.
• Experience leading group activities and working one-on-one with children ages 1-3 years
• Current CPR + First-Aid Certification or willingness to become certified
• Record of up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass a background check
• Excellent attitude and proactive approach to work
• ECE or CDA certification or willingness to become certified.
• Some familiarity with Montessori curriculum is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Lead activities and supervise children during Open Play times
• Respond to children’s daily needs with flexibility, patience, and nurturing
• Communicate with parents regarding any accidents or incidents with their child in the classroom
• Collaborate with the Program Administrator to provide feedback on lessons/activities and discuss classroom management
• Communicate effectively with parents on a daily basis
