A company in Waukegan, IL has a great opportunity for a Buyer with experience manufacturing!
If you thrive on problem-solving, building strong supplier relationships, and collaborating across teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, this role is for you.
As a Buyer, you will own the procurement process for assigned programs—balancing cost-effectiveness with timely deliveries to keep our production schedules running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Purchasing parts and raw materials
- perform cost analysis and support cost-saving initiatives
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and service agreements with suppliers
- Maintain purchase orders, including schedule changes and rescheduling
- Analyze supplier quotations
- Partner with the Master Scheduler
- Track and support departmental KPIs
- Provide project updates, reporting, and support
- Maintain good supplier relationships
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing or buyer experience in a manufacturing environment
- Microsoft office
- Excel and excellent computer skills
- Experience with MRP/ERP Systems is highly preferred
- Experience with purchasing overseas is a huge bonus!!
