Reporting to the Director, Logistics, this position is responsible for overseeing our fleet operations and compliance, ensuring the efficient movement of goods from point of origin to final destination, identifying cost and service improvement initiatives and supporting the daily logistics operations of DC's in the FBIN network.
Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fleet Management:
- Develop and implement strategies with FBIN's fleet partner to effectively manage and maintain the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety regulations.
- Ensure FBIN's fleet partner is properly managing vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Partner with Sourcing to oversee the procurement of new vehicles and equipment, negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure cost-effective solutions.
- Develop KPI metrics to monitor fuel consumption, vehicle usage, and maintenance costs to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Function as primary point of contact with FBIN's fleet partner, establishing QBR meetings and ongoing CI initiatives.
- Route Planning and Optimization:
- Collaborate with Logistics Ops team to plan and optimize delivery routes, considering factors such as distance, traffic patterns, and delivery deadlines.
- Utilize fleet management software to monitor vehicle locations and optimize route efficiency in real-time.
- Analyze route performance data to identify opportunities for streamlining operations, reducing fuel consumption, and improving delivery timelines.
- Collaborate across Opco's to identify opportunities to share routes and drivers.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities for both cost and service initiatives through data analysis with internal and external customer engagement.
- Analyze freight spend data by region, carrier, mode, and customer to understand trends and mitigate risk.
- Research and resolve transportation delivery and distribution center issues by maintaining communication with internal customers on related pick-up and delivery concerns.
- Constructively challenge standard process approaches in place to deliver cost savings and improved services to our FBIN customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or other business-related focus.
- Minimum of 3 years of Logistics experience is required.
- MS Office experience (Excel, Power Point, Word).
- ERP system experience (preferably Oracle, SAP or PeopleSoft).
- Transportation Management System experience (preferably Mercury Gate or Oracle OTM).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize efforts.
- Ability to cope with ambiguity and problem solve.
- Ability to be a leader of change.
- Ability to make independent decisions based on sound rationale and alignment with FBIN's operational standards and goals.
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $63,000 - $95,700 USD . Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
