Service Technician Responsibilities

• Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
• Documents repair orders with findings, results, and the correction to remain compliant with manufacturer guidelines
• Inspects vehicle for safety and maintenance needs such as worn brakes or tires.
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
• Provides an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Reads Ford workshop manual and executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Provides typed data and supporting comments on how root cause of failure was found
• Clearly communicates findings and repairs to service staff
• Completes BG Services, fluid exchanges, alignments, and other related maintenance services

Service Technician Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Service Technician
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Ability to learn quickly and provide top-notch customer service
• Basic Computer Skills, can type with ease
• Great teammate and positive attitude, enjoys the automotive industry
• Clean and valid driver’s license
• Ensures that customer’s cars are kept clean
• Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner
• Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications
