ER RN Job Details – Harvey, IL

• Position Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Harvey, IL 60426 (Chicago metropolitan area)
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department, Level I Trauma Center
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: December 29, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Charting System: Epic
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1610

Emergency Room RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an urban Level I Trauma Emergency Department
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
• Teaching hospital or academic medical center experience preferred
• Must pass EKG strip test at orientation
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off during contract
• Two professional references (one from direct supervisor/manager)

ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Perform triage and prioritize patient care in a busy emergency department
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and more)
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR
• Participate in ongoing nursing education and orientation modules
• Adhere to all hospital policies, compliance, and safety standards
