Hotel Sales Manager
Location: Naperville, IL area
Salary: $75K - $85K + Bonus
Key Collaborators: Administrative Sales Assistant, Catering Director, Department Heads, Marketing Partners
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Hotel Sales Manager to drive revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives, effective marketing campaigns, and brand management. In this vital role, you will align the hotel's positioning with market demands while maintaining corporate brand standards. By delivering tailored solutions to clients and focusing on exceptional service, you will ensure our property remains a premier destination for group business and events.
Core Responsibilities
Group Sales & Business Development
- Lead Generation: Prospect and qualify potential group business opportunities through targeted research, industry events, and networking.
- Contract Negotiation: Prepare and negotiate group contracts to align with property policies and revenue targets.
- Proposal Creation: Design customized proposals for meeting prospects and guide them seamlessly through the contracting phase.
- Client Relationships: Build strong, long-lasting partnerships with key clients by understanding their unique needs and delivering focused solutions.
Event Coordination & Execution
- Site Inspections: Organize and lead engaging property tours for potential clients, highlighting our premier facilities and services.
- Group Communication: Prepare 10-day Guest Room Control (GRC), Event, and Group Resumes to share critical details with all department heads.
- Onsite Leadership: Remain highly visible during major check-in days and the first day of meetings to assist operations, manage VIP itineraries, and ensure seamless event execution.
Strategic Leadership & Marketing
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive plans to capture new market opportunities and maximize overall revenue.
- Market Analysis: Monitor competitor activities and identify industry trends to maintain a strong competitive advantage.
- Budget & PR: Manage annual sales budgets, cultivate relationships with media and local visitor bureaus, and collaborate with marketing firms to promote property offerings.
- Corporate Accounts: Expand and maintain local negotiated accounts through strategic outreach and personal visits.
Revenue, Inventory & Reporting
- Distribution Management: Allocate room availability across direct bookings, OTAs, and GDS channels to optimize inventory.
- Rate Parity: Collaborate with operations to maintain consistent pricing across all channels, protecting brand integrity and preventing revenue leakage.
- Performance Metrics: Track essential hospitality statistics including ADR, RevPAR, and occupancy rates to assess performance.
- Data Analysis: Prepare detailed daily and weekly reports on sales activity, market trends, and performance against established targets.
