Technical Service Representative – Electrically Skilled | Office-Based

About the Role:
As a Technical Service Representative , you'll be the first line of support for customers calling in to troubleshoot commercial electrical equipment. You'll be fielding calls and emails from a wide range of end users — from restaurant managers to national coffee shop chains — walking them through repairs and maintenance in a clear, patient, and professional manner.
This is a full-time, office-based role (roughly 8am–5pm), where you’ll spend your time diagnosing issues, guiding resolutions, entering notes into Excel and ERP systems, and keeping service documentation accurate and organized.
What You’ll Do:
Handle service inquiries via phone and email, helping end users and technicians troubleshoot equipment
Interpret electrical schematics and guide others through repairs remotely
Log service information accurately in ERP and Excel-based systems
Communicate effectively and clearly with users of varying technical skill levels
Participate in hands-on training on the production floor to understand the equipment inside-out
Maintain a calm, solutions-focused attitude with upset or frustrated customers
Balance urgency and accuracy — on busy days, the team fields up to 80 service calls
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Haves:
3-5+ years of experience troubleshooting commercial or industrial electrical equipment (open to 1+ year with relevant associate degree)
Solid understanding of 120V, 240V, and 480V systems, single-phase and 3-phase connections
Ability to use multimeters and read/interpret electrical schematics
Mechanically inclined with experience around industrial equipment
Strong communication skills — must be able to speak clearly and confidently over the phone
Basic computer proficiency and comfort working with spreadsheets (Excel)
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience working with equipment that involves water (e.g., beverage equipment, coffee machines, dishwashers)
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus)
Prior phone/email troubleshooting experience
Experience in high-volume environments or customer-facing technical roles
Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or Electrical Engineering
Ideal Backgrounds:
Field Service Technicians from industrial, HVAC, or commercial kitchen equipment backgrounds
Electro-mechanical techs who rebuild and maintain machines
Dock/controls techs with strong panel and electrical system knowledge
Graduates with a hands-on technical degree and some relevant experience
