Summary

Wastewater I is responsible for all equipment and processes in Wastewater Facility. Making sure Everything is working properly and functioning right.

Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Must follow plant safety guidelines, wear appropriate PPE when cleaning and sanitizing
2. Perform process testing
3. Plan daily water handling requirements and scrap waste removal
4. Clean assigned areas and assist others when complete
5. Monitor use of all chemicals to proper measurements
6. Perform preventative and routine maintenance and minor repairs
7. Maintain proper documentation of operations, maintenance and repairs
8. Must be a self-starter and be able to work alone
9. Communicate effectively with all department and plant personnel
10. Be a safety leader, and exercise proper judgment in order to ensure their own and fellow employee’s safety
11. Required to work extended and flex schedules on the weekends as the needs of the business dictate
12. Operate a lift truck
13. Climb stairs and ladder
14. Other duties as assigned

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Previous leadership responsibility is a plus and the initiative to motivate others to excellence is required. Education and/or Experience

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and one to three months related experience to become familiar with equipment and cleaning processes.

Language Skills

1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units and understand ratios

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing this job the employee is occasionally (or regularly) exposed to the following environmental factors: cold, extreme heat and humidity. Exposure to caustic soda and muriatic acid and other chemicals associated with sanitation.
