Note: 50-100% Travel required for this role depending on the time of the year

Travel on Monday morning or evening, travel home on Friday afternoons; Working on sites Tues-Thursday

Job Description

• Operations Engineer Root Causing/Conveyer Performance Issues. Project Managing the repair process
• Supporting GES tiger teams in the field by serving as project lead in investigating MHE performance issues, leading daily meetings, sending daily and weekly reports, and driving long-term corrective actions with upstream partners including engineering and design teams.
• Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.

• Tiger Teams leverage Lean methodology and continuous improvement skill sets to tackle complex, high-visibility MHE performance challenges.
• Upon solving a systemic problem at one site, they scale and systematize their solution to similar site footprints.

Candidate Requirements

Core Requirements:

• Relentless passion for frugality and out-of-the-box engineering.
• Strong system troubleshooting skills.
• Engineering background/education
• Lean 6 Sigma Experience
• Root Cause Analysis Experience
• Ability to work independently, or with stakeholders on technical projects
• Experience in building SQL queries is desirable, but not needed

Highly Desirable Attributes:

• Previous Experience with Material Handling Systems
• Mechanical, Electrical or Controls or Systems development Engineering
