Job Details – Surgical Tech (Locum Tenens, Oak Lawn, IL)

• Location: Oak Lawn, IL 60453 (Chicago area healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Hospital – 28 beds, including 2 hybrid cardiovascular/vascular rooms
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel surgical tech contract)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: December 27, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $3050-$3130
• Interview: Manager interview required
• Scrub Color: Provided

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist (Surgical Tech); 3 years of hybrid OR experience preferred
• Experience with hybrid patient types and cath lab procedures required
• Proficiency with Siemens surgical equipment required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
• Acute care hospital experience required
• First-time travelers with acute care backgrounds are encouraged to apply

Surgical Tech Responsibilities

• Assist in a wide range of surgical procedures: general, gynecology, urology, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, trauma, and robotic surgeries
• Support hybrid operating room cases, including TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions
• Provide care for both adult and pediatric surgical patients (20% pediatric cases)
• Participate in Gifts of Hope donor cases
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio for optimal clinical support
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: anesthesiologists, surgeons, resource nurses, and clinical educators
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for charting and documentation
