Client Services Representative
CLIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

The Knox County Health Department is hiring a Client Services Representative (CSR) to join our Administration division and serve as a welcoming face of our agency.
Job Summary:
The CSR provides front-line customer service for all Health Department divisions- greeting clients and visitors, answering phones, assisting with forms, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and supporting general administrative operations. The role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to equitable access to public health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist clients, visitors, and staff professionally both in person and over the phone
- Check in clients, assist with forms and applications, and direct individuals to appropriate departments
- Route phone calls, take messages, and support internal communication
- Schedule appointments according to established policies
- Conduct insurance verification, including secondary insurance identification
- Perform accurate data entry, maintain client and program files, and support records management
- Collect fees and prepare reports as needed
- Provide general program information and support routine administrative needs
- Serve as backup to WIC Clerks and Family Health Department
- Assist with copying, faxing, mail processing, typing correspondence, and managing spreadsheets
- Maintain the meeting rooms calendar
- Present a professional appearance and maintain orderly workstations
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of customer service or administrative experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to type 40 WPM and operate computers and standard office equipment
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Knowledge of basic mathematics
- Ability to sit for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
