Tool Crib and Asset Control Specialist

A day in this role

Under direct supervision, you will be the go-to person for receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking tools, dies, materials, parts, and equipment that keep operations running smoothly.

What you will do

• Issue tools, equipment, and parts to workers and maintain accurate records of items issued and returned.
• Track down lost or misplaced tools, equipment, or parts and update records accordingly.
• Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools, equipment, and parts; requisition stock to replenish inventory as needed.
• Enter all required data into business operations software and support purchasing and receiving process requirements.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and parts for defects or wear; report any damage or wear to supervisors.
• Keep all parts clean, labeled, and organized in the proper locations.
• Perform clerical tasks and other administrative activities as directed by the manager.
• Participate actively in weekly and monthly team meetings.
• You may also: interface with purchasing and receiving; repair, service, or lubricate tools and equipment; deliver tools or equipment to workers manually or using a hand truck; and mark/identify tools and equipment with identification tags, stamps, or an electric marking tool.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical demands

• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to use close vision and color vision.

Working conditions

• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
• Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud.
• In the factory environment, you may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
