Job Title: AM Prep Cook

Noodlebird in Logan Square is hiring a dedicated Prep Cook to support our fast-casual kitchen featuring Live-Fire BBQ, Handmade Noodles & Dumplings, and House-made Pastries.

We are looking for someone who loves the rhythm of prep work—staying organized, working clean, managing lists, and supporting the team by ensuring every station starts the day fully stocked and ready.

Schedule: Full-time, Wednesday–Sunday (required)
Hours: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Experience Required: Minimum 1+ year of prep experience; strong basic knife skills; ability to follow prep lists with accuracy.
Transportation: Reliable transportation to and from work required.

• Execute daily prep lists accurately and efficiently

• Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, and marinades

• Mix, portion, and label ingredients following recipes and standards

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety throughout the shift

• Communicate with BOH leaders regarding par levels and product needs

• Support noodle/dumpling prep as needed

• Properly store and rotate inventory (FIFO)

• Assist with light dish tasks or kitchen cleaning when required

• A team player with strong communication and a good attitude

• Someone who enjoys repetitive tasks, consistency, and working from a list

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and stay organized

• Reliability is essential—regular call-offs or habitual lateness will not be tolerated

• Openness to feedback and willingness to learn new tasks

• Someone who takes pride in cleanliness, food safety, and efficiency
