Corrections RN Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60608 (Illinois nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Correctional Facility
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/2/2025 – End: 12/2/2025)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Floating: Mandatory float within facility as needed
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Charting System: Cerner
• Parking: Free, first come first serve
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800 - $1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (required for Chicago healthcare jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg (correctional nursing experience preferred)
• BLS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Ability to float to various units as needed
• Responsive and able to meet compliance deadlines
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting assignment

Corrections RN Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care services to adult populations in a correctional healthcare setting
• Perform Med/Surg nursing duties including wound care, airway management, and rapid response
• Utilize computerized documentation (Cerner EMR)
• Float to different units within the correctional facility as required
• Adhere to facility policies regarding scheduling, time off, and holiday coverage
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
