Reporting to the EHS & Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician will identify problems and implements corrective actions leading to continuous improvements for the Hach Romeoville facility. You will be responsible for general facilities maintenance including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production equipment. This role does not require any HVAC or Electrical work or experience.

SCHEDULE : Monday-Friday 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM (Overtime may be required.)

This position is part of the EH&S/Facilities department located in Romeoville, IL and will be onsite.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Plan, coordinate, and document maintenance schedules, infrastructure activities, and contractor management.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards in all activities.
• Assist with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability initiatives, including training associates.
• Provide tools, jigs, and fixtures, and oversee their implementation for process improvements.
• Participate in Kaizen events and recommend improvement projects to enhance operations.
• Research, design, trial, and implement engineered work cells to optimize workflows.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, and drill presses to support maintenance and improvement tasks.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required; Associates Degree in related field preferred (technical degree or trade degree programs)
• 1+ year of related experience (i.e.: maintenance, mechanical installation, etc. as it relates to the job) in a manufacturing, engineering, or related facility environment
• Proven ability to troubleshoot/problem solve in a structured, logical manner, performing or coordinate preventive maintenance activities
• Previous project/ contractor coordination experience and proven success prioritizing task-based activities to be completed in timely manner.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $26.25 - $26.25 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
