Our market area currently includes 22 locations and covers central Illinois and southwest Indiana. The Equity has five divisions including: Agronomy, Grain, Feed & Livestock, Energy, and two Retail Stores, plus a Precision Agronomy dealership as well as a cutting-edge drone sprayer business. Location: Effingham

Reports to: Director of Livestock Operations

Salary: $16 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sort and loads of hogs and manage market weights in accordance to company weight targets.

2. Monitor feed inventory and order when necessary.

3. Ensure farm paperwork is completed accurately and on time.

4. Review performance reports and implement action plans to improve performance when warranted.

5. Tasks

a. Sort and load feeder pigs, market hogs

b. Vaccinate and treat pigs ranging from wean pigs to market hogs

c. Power washing

6. Equipment Operation

a. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

b. Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe manner.

c. Conduct routine maintenance of equipment.

7. Ventilation Controls

a. Monitor and ensure entire ventilation system is in good working order

b. Regularly monitor the environment to achieve optimum comfort for the animals

8. Facility Maintenance

a. The facility must be maintained and well kept

b. Communicate non-routine repairs to the Barn Owner

c. Keep both interior and exterior of the unit clean and organized

Work Environment: The nature of the business requires extended hours as well as working some weekends and holidays. While performing the duties of the job, the employee often works inside swine confinement building and may work with exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level in work area is usually loud.

Travel: The employee may be required to travel to other facilities in The Equity trade area.

Physical Demands: The physical demands include lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
