Sport Management Faculty

Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Faculty in Sport Management to join its team in McHenry, Maryland.

This 10-month position (Assistant/Associate Professor rank based on qualifications and experience) is responsible for the preparation, development, and presentation of classroom and material; the academic advisement of students; and participation in the academic planning and assessment process. Faculty at Garrett College carry a 15-credit/semester teaching load. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required.

Garrett College is searching for an outstanding and enthusiastic individual for a full-time faculty position in sport management to begin in the fall of 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of program/department courses with the potential of teaching in the local high schools. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the person filling this position is expected to be actively involved in program promotion and outreach, departmental and campus committees, curriculum development, and program and student learning assessment.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree (or near completion) in Sport Management or a closely related field, doctorate preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of post-secondary community college level teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience using instructional technology in the classroom and dedication to teaching excellence and the mission of a community college.

Garrett College is located approximately 180 miles west of Baltimore/Washington D.C. and 120 miles south of Pittsburgh. The College is within walking distance of scenic Deep Creek Lake and the Wisp Ski Resort.

Hiring Range: Assistant Professor: $62,504 to $74,321; Associate Professor: $68,912 to $81,940. An outstanding benefits package is available shortly upon hire.
