The Head of the Michigan business for PFMAM will lead the relationship management and business development efforts for the Michigan local government investment pool (LGIP), in addition to managing a small team of sales, relationship management, and client service professionals. This MD role will report to the Head of Midwest Region. The role involves driving new business and revenue retention to maintain and grow the book of business across the state of Michigan, and possibly surrounding states, inclusive of the full product set (LGIP, MMF, SMA, OCIO, Securities Lending, and other).
In addition, the role will be responsible for regulatory supervisory oversight of registered representatives. The autonomous leader will have strong leadership, relationship, and management skills. This leader must be customer centric and growth oriented, possessing a keen ability to develop talent with a disciplined and strategic approach to compliance, risk management, and expense control. The incumbent will work closely with investment team, operations, marketing, client service, risk, legal, compliance, and sales enablement to contribute to the fulfillment of the firm's vision. The MD will also work closely in partnership with senior leaders from U.S. Bank to ensure successful collaboration initiatives between the bank and the institutional asset management business.
Essential Functions
- Manage the LGIP relationship and small team of professionals in Michigan.
- Provide regulatory related supervision and oversight of risk management and compliance programs
- Financial plan responsibility for revenue and expense targets within the State
- Establish goals and strategic growth initiatives at State level
- Develop and effectively manage staff; accountable for employee engagement scores and initiatives related to talent development and change leadership
- Actively participate in critical business development and client retention opportunities
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 10 or more years of related experience; MBA & CFA a plus
- Direct experience working with public sector clients in Michigan
- A strong understanding of the B2B / Institutional sales environment
- FINRA series 6 /7, 63, & 24/26; or ability to obtain within 180 days

- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and savviness; ability to cross-collaborate towards shared success
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills; fast learner
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Power Point and Excel

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
