Lead Mail Clerk

The Arc of the Quad Cities Area seeks a Mail Clerk Lead at The Rock Island Arsenal Clock Tower Building!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively support and further the Mission of The Arc. Empower people with disabilities to believe in their unique abilities and achieve their full potential by providing quality, innovative services that focus on advocacy, independence, employment, meaningful community life, and personal happiness.
- Ensure proper training and supervision of individual personal care and active treatment, including compliance with all safety standards and maintaining a positive, safe, and clean work environment, including good body mechanics, universal precautions, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Complete all production-related paperwork, payroll, and work and program documentation forms promptly, including time studies and related standards.
- Provide general clerical coverage for all assigned mailroom activities, which include the following: receive all mail, sort all mail, package, and place postage on all mail, including all special mailings (i.e., UPS, Federal Express, etc.).
- Complete preparation for and attend all assigned client worker staffing and IDTs and provide OJT for other staff as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required . College work preferred
- One year of typing experience with basic computer knowledge required
- One year of clerical/mailroom experience is preferred.
- Strength and flexibility to lift equipment and supplies
- Ability to interact professionally with others both verbally and in writing.
- Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and ability to provide (own vehicle) transportation of consumers and mail as assigned.
- Demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks independently required.
- Experience in programming with individuals with developmental disabilities or other specialized populations preferred.
- Certification: Directive Service Provider certification or the ability to obtain it within 120 days of employment is preferred.
