Job Description
The Support Specialist performs key administrative functions within a transportation service center. This role is responsible for addressing inquiries and resolving issues from Sales Agents and clients, including freight invoicing, accounts payable support, and freight bill resolution. The position requires researching and resolving customer service issues while ensuring accurate processing and documentation. This is a Hybrid Role that currently requires to come into the Bolingbrook, IL office location one (1) workday a week; however the hiring manager will consider this role for fully remote work for the perfect candidate to join our team!
As a front-line representative of TForce Worldwide, the Support Specialist provides support to both internal and external customers and demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service and value.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and research freight invoices using systems such as Mercury Gate, SAP, WorldTrak, 3PL
Brokerware, and Excel. - Investigate discrepancies and resolve freight billing and payment issues.
- Evaluate station inquiries and resolve or escalate issues following company guidelines.
- Support supervisors and managers in resolving accounts payable and operational concerns.
- Coordinate communication between agents, carriers, and internal departments.
- Maintain strong relationships with stations and carrier partners.
- Track operational exceptions and communicate resolutions using internal tools.
- Complete required documentation and administrative tasks in a timely manner.
- Support additional operational or administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of customer service experience.
- Prior experience in transportation or logistics, preferably LTL shipping, is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or Oracle
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in deadline-driven environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
