Temp. Construction Admin

Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a Temporary Construction Administrative Assistant to join their client's team in Elgin, Illinois. This short-term role is ideal for individuals with strong administrative and customer service skills, particularly those with experience in the construction or parts-related industries . The position will cover a team member's medical leave and focus on supporting parts sales coordination and customer service inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries with moderate call volume.
• Monitor and respond to emails promptly.
• Process parts sales orders from start to finish.
• Communicate with manufacturers to identify required parts and obtain pricing and availability.
• Prepare and send quotes to customers.
• Enter and process orders using Great Plains (GP).
• Track and follow up on orders to ensure accurate fulfillment.
• Coordinate with the internal sales team for support and guidance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in customer service, order processing, and administrative support.
• Experience in parts sales, distribution, construction office, or similar industry preferred.
• Strong data entry and organizational skills.
• Comfortable communicating with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.
• Experience with Great Plains (GP) is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

• In-office role with support from a collaborative team.
• Two additional team members onsite daily.
• Casual to business casual dress environment.
• Training and support available, including access to team members during the coverage period.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)

Compensation

Salary: $20 - $23 per hour depending on experience.

Additional Details

• Short-term assignment with a defined timeline of 6-8 weeks, starting the week of July 6 or July 13.
