DC Power Technician
Overview
As a DC Technician for our Illinois market, you will be responsible for installing DC power systems, including adding/removing systems equipment, running cable, wiring, performing live DC power transitions, and stacking, cleaning, and strapping batteries. This is a field-based position, requiring up to 100% travel, with some evening and weekend work required as job duties demand.
What We Need from You
To thrive in this role, you should possess basic computer skills, specialized electronics training or relevant work experience, and demonstrate proficiency with electronic test equipment. Experience in the telecommunications industry, coupled with the following skills, is also desired:
- Ability to install, test, and turn up DC power systems, inverters, and batteries
- Ability to install iron work, equipment cabinets, and related hardware
- Ability to add and/or remove battery strings
- Ability to perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits
- Ability to add and/or remove circuits on working power distribution equipment
- Ability to install auxiliary framing and relay racks
- Ability to complete software adds or upgrades
- Ability to perform onsite analysis of job drawings and specifications to resolve any issues prior to job start
- Ability to complete DC audits, preventive maintenance, and/or load testing of DC power systems and standby batteries
- Ability to complete required paperwork according to company standards
- Ability to maintain a professional orientation, ensuring quality and outstanding customer service
- Ability to safely lift up to 100 pounds
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company insurance policy
