Job Summary

This union position is based at the United Center—the largest arena in the United States—located near the West Side of Chicago, Illinois. The United Center hosts concerts, other events, and is home to the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL and the Chicago Bulls of the NBA. As a Concession Stand Attendant, you will prepare and maintain concession stands and provide friendly, efficient service to guests during events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality guest service by selling food and beverages in the assigned stand.

• Maintain cleanliness of counters, condiment areas, and restock supplies as needed.

• Prepare and manage food items to keep up with sales demands.

• Act as cashier, accurately handling transactions.

• Monitor and record Time as Temperature Control (TTC) goods; follow FIFO practices.

• Check IDs to ensure alcoholic beverages are served only to guests of legal age and prevent over-service.

• Assist with pre-event setup and post-event cleaning to meet sanitation standards.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the stand manager.

Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret safety and procedure documents.

• Basic math skills including calculations and measurements.

• Familiarity with in-house computer programs.

• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, stooping, and reaching.

Experience:

• 0–3 months related experience or training preferred.
