NICU RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250 - $2310
• Location: Urbana, Illinois (61801) – Illinois nursing jobs
• Facility: Level 3 or higher NICU, Trauma 1 hospital
• Employment Type: Travel RN (locum tenens)
• Shift: Night shifts, 7:00PM – 7:30AM
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/8/2025 – End: 12/6/2025)

NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent NICU nursing experience at a Level 3 or higher facility
• Experience in Trauma 1 hospital settings
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• NRP certification (American Heart Association)

NICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive neonatal care using evidence-based nursing practices
• Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized care plans for NICU patients
• Implement and adjust care plans based on ongoing evaluation and family needs
• Monitor intake and output for assigned neonates
• Support mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care
• Administer medications using bar code scanning procedures
• Report on patient assignments during multidisciplinary rounds
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and reporting safety hazards
• Collaborate with healthcare colleagues and participate in ongoing professional development
