Senior Relationship Manager - Academics - S&P Global

About the Role:

11The Account Manager serves as a trusted advisor to clients within the Academic sector. This role is responsible for managing and expanding relationships with existing clients, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions leveraging S&P data, analytics, and workflow tools.

The Team:

The Account Management team is dedicated to building, growing, and managing strategic relationships with clients across the Academic space.

Our Account Managers leverage internal and external relationships, industry expertise, and a client-centric approach to drive engagement, maximize value, and support their evolving needs.

Responsibilities and Impact:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at client organizations.
• Understand client business needs and provide consultative guidance on the Market Intelligence suite of solutions.
• Drive revenue growth through renewals, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams (product, marketing, customer support) to ensure client satisfaction and successful onboarding.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to provide actionable insights.
• Deliver product demonstrations, training, and presentations to clients.

Compensation/Benefits Information :

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,773 to $113,280. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We Are Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 5 years of experience in sales and/or relationship management roles
• Strong Excel and Salesforce.com skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with executive presence
• Willingness to travel for client visits

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with market data, analytics, or financial intelligence platforms
• Demonstrated track record of driving renewals, upsells, and cross-sell initiatives
• Consultative, strategic, and commercially-minded
• Intellectually curious and highly collaborative
