It's more than a job

With a sales career at Kuehne+Nagel, you'll drive long-term business success by mastering sales strategies, nurturing customer relationships and identifying new opportunities. But you will also bring relief and peace of mind to pet owners around the world. Because when you do your job, your colleagues around the world are able to build reliable veterinary supply chains that ensure pets get the care they need. At Kuehne+Nagel, our work is about more than we imagine.

At Kuehne+Nagel, we help businesses navigate the complexities of global trade through innovative customs and trade compliance solutions. We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Customs Sales Representative to expand our presence within an assigned territory by identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, and delivering customized logistics and customs solutions.

As a key member of the sales organization, you will play a critical role in generating revenue growth, building a strong sales pipeline, and helping customers optimize their customs and trade compliance processes. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams while representing one of the world's leading logistics providers.

How you create impact

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales activity and revenue targets established in partnership with sales leadership.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities within your assigned territory.
  • Prospect daily through cold calling, referrals, branch-generated leads, and customer recommendations to generate new business opportunities.
  • Qualify prospective customers by understanding their business needs, shipment volumes, operational requirements, and compliance challenges.
  • Conduct customer meetings and presentations to introduce Kuehne+Nagel's customs and trade compliance services.
  • Prepare and present customized service proposals that effectively communicate the value of Kuehne+Nagel solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support long-term business growth and retention.
  • Lead and support formal RFP responses and presentations for strategic revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Trade Compliance, Operations, Client Partnering, and branch teams to develop comprehensive customer solutions.
  • Ensure all necessary customer and operational information is gathered to facilitate successful solution implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing customer accounts.
  • Participate in sales campaigns, marketing initiatives, and special projects to drive market visibility and revenue growth.
  • Monitor sales performance and maintain accurate pipeline and activity reporting.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales reports within established timelines.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with customers and prospects, with approximately 60% domestic travel.

What we would like you to bring

  • 7+ years of professional sales experience, preferably within customs brokerage, trade compliance, freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation services.
  • Proven track record of prospecting, developing, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles, including RFP development and customer proposals.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Knowledge of customs brokerage, international trade, import/export regulations, or supply chain solutions preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office applications, and sales reporting tools.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.

This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
