Medicare Billing Specialist

This position is responsible for ensuring all initial and subsequent billing of patient accounts are accurately processed to the appropriate payors. The Billing Specialist will apply problem solving skills in order to independently rectify all pre and post service issues in order to accurately submit claims for payment. All paper and electronic processing of primary, secondary, and tertiary claims for Graham Health System will be completed by the Billing Specialist. This position reports to the Hospital Business Office Director. Position Qualifications: High School Diploma required 1 – 2 years billing medical claims preferred Advanced computer skills including Microsoft office products such as Excel Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding and medical terminology Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations as well as Managed Care Contracts Knowledge of manual and electronic billing Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent verbal and written communication skills Keyboarding and 10 key touch calculator skills Problem analysis and problem solving skills Mathematical proficiency, including percentage calculations Benefits of working at GHS: 2.5% Cost of Living Adjustment every July 3% Retention bonus every February Potential/up to GHS $1,200 Payout in July Student Loan Forgiveness Assistance Daycare Assistance Rental Assistance First Time Home Buyer Down Payment Assistance Vehicle Down Payment Assistance The pay grade assigned to this position is 2700; the link provided shows the pay range.  Compensation InformationAll wages are determined by experience and skills; wage information will be discussed further upon interview selection.
