We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our interventional pain practice as a Workers' Compensation Coordinator.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of workers' compensation claims for our patients, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and maintaining effective communication with insurance companies, employers, attorneys, and other stakeholders. Your primary objective will be to facilitate the smooth and efficient handling of workers' compensation cases, ensuring optimal reimbursement for our services while providing exceptional customer service to our patients and partners.
- Workers' Compensation Case Management:
- Initiate and manage workers' compensation cases for patients, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' work-related injuries, gathering relevant medical records and diagnostic test results.
- Insurance Liaison:
- Communicate and negotiate with insurance carriers, claims adjusters, and case managers to obtain pre-authorization for treatments, procedures, and medication.
- Keep abreast of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and fee schedules to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement.
- Address and resolve any claim denials or disputes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Patient Advocacy:
- Advocate for patients' rights and ensure their access to necessary medical treatments, therapies, and interventions.
- Provide support and education to patients regarding the workers' compensation process, including their rights and responsibilities.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with the medical team to schedule appointments, procedures, and evaluations for injured workers.
- Maintain clear and open communication with patients, medical staff, attorneys, and insurance representatives to provide updates and address any concerns.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Accurately record all interactions, documentation, and communication related to workers' compensation cases in electronic medical records and other relevant systems.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of workers' compensation cases and relevant financial metrics for practice management.
- Proven experience in workers' compensation case management within a medical setting.
- In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care and advocacy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
