Position Summary

The Construction Project Management Intern supports the planning and execution of capital data center construction projects under the guidance of experienced project managers. This internship provides hands-on exposure to all phases of the project lifecycle, including design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout. Projects may include ground-up construction, tenant improvements, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and efficiency initiatives. The intern will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors while developing foundational knowledge of construction project management practices, contract administration, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support

• Assist with day-to-day project management activities for capital construction projects of moderate scope

• Support project teams through various phases, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover

• Help track project schedules, budgets, and key milestones to ensure alignment with company expectations

Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with internal teams, including Design, Procurement, Site Operations, Security, and IT/Network teams

• Support communication and coordination with external vendors such as general contractors, architects/engineers, commissioning agents, and equipment suppliers

Site & Quality Support

• Assist with site walks and inspections to observe work in progress and verify compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements

• Help document field observations, punch lists, and progress updates

Contract & Documentation Support

• Assist with contract administration activities, including document preparation, tracking change orders, reviewing cost forecasts, and maintaining project records

• Support internal controls and documentation processes throughout the project life cycle

Cost & Schedule Awareness

• Help monitor project expenditures and assist with basic cost tracking and reporting

• Support schedule updates and review progress against planned milestones

Process Improvement & Learning

• Provide feedback on internal processes, policies, and training programs

• Participating in project meetings and contributing to reports and analyses for review by senior team members

Learning & Development Focus

• Develop foundational knowledge of construction project management practices

• Apply company policies and procedures to routine project challenges

• Learn to analyze basic project data and contribute to problem-solving under supervision

• Build professional communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management or a related field (preferred)

• Interest in construction project management, capital projects, or data center infrastructure

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); MS Project exposure a plus

• Prior internship or coursework related to construction or project management is beneficial but not required
