Radiology Monitor Technician Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center
• Position Type: Travel Contract Radiology Monitor Technician (Tele Tech)
• Start Date: September 16, 2025
• End Date: December 16, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Floating: Required within facility and up to 50 miles as needed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $850-$870/week

Radiology Monitor Technician Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Monitor Technician (Tele Tech) or EKG Technician
• High School Diploma or GED
• Registered/Active Certification as a Cardiographic Technician or EKG Technician
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Successful completion of EKG interpretation test
• IL License in hand upon submission
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions for flu only)
• Ability to float to different units and facilities as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Radiology Monitor Technician Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and interpret EKG rhythms for patients in the Telemetry unit
• Promptly recognize and report abnormal cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status to nursing staff and physicians
• Ensure accurate patient identification and effective communication with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Provide care to a diverse patient population, from neonate to older adult
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner charting system
• Float to various hospital units as needed to support clinical staffing
• Comply with all hospital policies, including compliance and vaccination requirements
