Grill Assistant
Job Overview
Responsibilities
- Operate the fryer station, preparing items according to Green Gables standards
- Assist line cooks with prep, plating, and assembling dishes
- Maintain proper cook times, oil quality, and food consistency
- Keep fryer station clean, stocked, and organized throughout the shift
- Monitor food quality, temperatures, and portioning
- Communicate clearly with line cooks to keep tickets flowing smoothly
- Assist with restocking, prep work, and ingredient rotation
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment
Skills
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and timing (critical for fryer items)
- Ability to follow directions and recipes consistently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and food handling
- Ability to stay organized and clean under pressure
- Willingness to learn and take direction from lead cooks
- Reliability and strong work ethic
