Title : Accounting Assistant

Location : Schaumburg, IL (On-Site)

Assignment Type: 3-5-month contract position with the possibility of extensions.

Compensation: $24.00 - $26.00 / Hourly depending on relevant experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor the SharePoint Credit Request board daily to review and process credit payments, including quick and hot check requests.
• Develop expertise in multiple payment platforms SharePoint payment methods.
• Enter vendor invoices and credit notes related to SharePoint requests into the accounting system, ensuring required approvals are obtained prior to processing.
• Verify station payment requests by reviewing shipment files for open accruals and validating vendor invoices before releasing payments.
• Post and apply payments in the accounting system, update records, and maintain documentation of payment confirmations in shipment files.
• Perform daily reconciliations and support credit card reconciliations as needed.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor issues, and payment variances in a timely manner.
• Validate international and domestic vendor bank details for new and existing suppliers using bank portal verification tools or direct confirmation, and update vendor profiles in the ERP system.
• Manage Positive Pay SQL file uploads, process stop payment requests, and support daily ACH and payment batch uploads.
• Monitor the treasury team group inbox, addressing assigned items, and communicate with vendors and internal staff to resolve inquiries, refund requests, and payment-related issues.

Requirements:

• 2 +years of experience in Accounting
• Associates Degree in Accounting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel- (Sorting and Filtering Data, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP's)
