Metal Stamping Operations Supervisor
A day in this role
You arrive to a clean, organized production floor and start with a quick huddle. Yesterday’s KPIs are up, but a press needs attention. You coordinate with maintenance, rebalance labor, and keep output on track—without compromising quality or safety. By noon, you’ve coached a new team member on standardized work, reviewed 5S sustainment, and partnered with Quality and Engineering to tighten a process. Before you leave, you finalize production reports, document improvements, and plan tomorrow’s run to hit promise dates.
What you’ll do
- Deliver on production schedules while upholding quality standards and a safety-first culture.
- Keep equipment running reliably by monitoring performance and coordinating proactive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Build capability: train, coach, and evaluate team members to develop a high-performing workforce.
- Lead safety audits, meetings, and protocol enforcement; model OSHA best practices at all times.
- Maintain precise production records, reports, and documentation; own the accuracy of data.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to resolve issues and drive process improvements.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in steel operations.
- 3+ years in high-velocity production management, including order fulfillment and inventory control.
- At least 1 year in a formal leadership or management capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse, inventory, and shipping practices.
- Clear, confident communicator; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory/ERP systems (SAP experience strongly preferred).
- Proven leadership with strengths in problem solving, multitasking, prioritization, and delegation.
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational habits.
