Marklund is seeking a highly motivated and mission-centered individual for the position of Assistant Director of Nursing (DON). This position is based out of the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, IL (formerly named Little Angels) The salary for this position is $90,000. The hours for this position are Monday- Friday 8a-4p with flexibility and on-call rotation.

Who We Are:

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Assistant Director of Nursing (DON) Summary of Duties:

• Develops, maintains, and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

• Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.

• Oversees Marklund Day School's nursing teams.

• Oversees and evaluates the work performance of nursing personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies.

• Collaborates with physicians and consultants to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems.

Experience and Skills

Assistant Director of Nursing (DON) Qualifications:

• Current Licensed Registered Nurse (required). May also consider an LPN license for a strong candidate.

• Knowledge of IDPA, IDPH, DHS, public health survey process/regulations, Medicaid and ICF/DD residential care facilities and CARF preferred

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements
