Injection Molding Automation Tech

Our client, a leader in the medical device manufacturing is looking for an Injection molding automation technician at the Buffalo Grove, IL location. Key qualifications include, 3+ years in a plastic injection molding environment with integrated automation. Relocation for the right candidate will be provided.

responsibilities:
- IMM & Robot Integration (The Handshake): Troubleshooting the communication (Euromap 67/E12) between the Injection Molding Machine and the robot to ensure the press only opens when the robot is ready and the robot only enters when the mold is fully open.
- Molding Setup & Recovery: Performing safe Site Entry to clear part "hang-ups" inside the mold, resetting press alarms, and ensuring the molding cycle (clamping, injection, cooling) stays synchronized with the automation.
- EOAT & Mold Interface: Maintaining and adjusting the End-of-Arm Tooling (vacuum/grippers) so it aligns perfectly with the mold cavities to extract medical parts without causing "scuffing" or structural damage.
- Electromechanical Press Support: Using multimeters and schematics to diagnose molding machine sensors, heater bands, and hydraulic/pneumatic valves that control the mold's movement.
- Auxiliary Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring all "press-side" equipment-such as mold temperature controllers (thermolators), material dryers, and granulators-are operating within the validated medical process limits.
