Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Corridor Patrol in Chicago, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, support students, staff, and visitors with clear communication, and document observations with professionalism. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes; monitor for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, alarms, disturbances, and access concerns; request additional assistance as needed.
• Monitor and control access points according to site procedures, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and assist with visitor directions and information.
• Complete detailed reports of patrols, incidents, and observations; communicate timely updates to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
