Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time or part-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support an elementary school caseload for a full school year contract. This role involves providing communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing within an elementary educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication by interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa
• Support students communication needs in classroom settings, during instruction, and at school events
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to ensure accessible learning environments
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Adapt interpretation techniques according to student learning needs and educational activities

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English-language interpreting
• Prior experience interpreting in educational settings, especially at the elementary level, preferred
• Strong understanding of elementary-level educational terminology and classroom dynamics
• Ability to work full-time or part-time based on assignment needs
• Commitment to a full school year contract
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
