What You’ll Do:
Own Project Financial Administration
- Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams to manage project accounting from startup through closeout.
- Set up projects in accounting systems and ensure alignment with owner and company requirements.
- Monitor project costs, coding accuracy, and financial activity to maintain job cost integrity.
Drive Accurate Billing & Healthy Cash Flow
- Prepare and process monthly owner billing packages, including pay applications, schedules of values, sworn statements, lien waivers, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure billing accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor receivables, retainage, and collections to help maintain strong project cash flow.
Support Project Financial Performance
- Analyze job costs and identify trends, discrepancies, or potential financial risks.
- Assist with project forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
- Support monthly close processes and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.
Partner Across Teams
- Build strong relationships with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Provide guidance to project teams on accounting procedures, billing requirements, and financial processes.
- Serve as a proactive partner in solving accounting and project-related challenges.
Ensure Compliance & Accuracy
- Manage subcontractor compliance documentation including insurance, lien waivers, and contract requirements.
- Help maintain strong accounting controls and accurate project documentation.
- Support audits and special accounting projects as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of construction accounting experience, commercial or industrial construction experience preferred
- Experience preparing pay applications, sworn statements, lien waivers, and project billing documentation
- Strong understanding of job costing, retainage, and construction billing processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience supporting WIP reporting and project forecasting
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with construction ERP/accounting systems such as Viewpoint, CMiC, or Sage preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work at a desk or computer screen with keyboard for extended periods of time
