Social Media and Digital Creation Volunteer

Seeking a responsible, reliable, motivated individual to assist with social media and marketing channels that promote Unity Chicago’s mission and a wide range of events. This unpaid internship/volunteer is an amazing real-life opportunity and experience to add to your resume. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in content creation and management for multiple social media channels and video editing, as well as contributing to team strategy discussions.

Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and implement effective social media marketing strategies, including personalizing content and channel growth
-Create and edit long-form service videos into dynamic reels/shorts that engage our congregation and attract young individuals and/or families to our services
-Offer recommendations to optimize marketing strategies for church services and events
-Collaborate with team to identify target audiences and track progress towards communal objectives
-Maintain social media channels including setting up calendar and engaging through platforms
-Engage in various promotional outreach such as community boards, Facebook groups, local newsletters

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or currently seeking a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Proven experience in digital marketing, especially for services or community-focused organizations. Proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to contribute to team discussions

Hours:
approx. 5 hours/ week, but flexible and willing to accommodate individual’s schedule. While we emphasize a very collaborative approach, you'll have the opportunity to work remotely.
Start/finish dates for internship are FLEXIBLE. Willing to work around candidate's school/work schedule for hours/week and duration.
