Plant Equipment Reliability Mechanic
Keep Our Lines Running in Mundelein
Picture this: it’s 7:00 a.m. in our Mundelein, IL facility, and production is gearing up. You arrive, review the maintenance schedule, and head to the floor. A conveyor is trending hot on a bearing — you grab your precision instruments, confirm the readings, consult the equipment manual and schematic, and get to work. By 8:30, the line is humming again. Before lunch, you complete a set of preventative maintenance tasks, documenting each step, locking and tagging out equipment as required, and collaborating with teammates to keep operations safe and smooth.
Role Overview
As a Maintenance Mechanic working at a Level II capacity, you’ll perform routine to moderately complex maintenance and repairs on plant machinery to maximize reliability and throughput. You’ll diagnose faults, repair breakdowns, and carry out preventative tasks with growing autonomy, escalating the most complex issues to senior technicians when needed.
What You’ll Do
- Use hand and power tools plus precision measuring/testing instruments to service machinery in line with diagrams, blueprints, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Execute routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, from basic service to moderately complex tasks.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical breakdowns to restore equipment quickly and safely.
