Special Education Teacher - $55/hr - Lombard, IL - In-Person - 20 Weeks

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide quality services to students in specialized classroom settings. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, this role involves planning and implementing individualized programs, providing special instruction, and collaborating with general education staff to support student success.

Assignment Details:

• Location: Lombard, IL

• Start Date: ASAP

• End Date: End of school year (approximately 20 weeks)

• Schedule: Monday-Friday

• Hours: 33 per week (paid breaks)

• Duration: 20 weeks

• Pay Rate: $55/hour

• Modality: In-person only

• Openings: 1 position

• Interview: In-person with program leadership

• Floating Requirement: N/A

Responsibilities:

• Lead classroom instruction and assist students with special education needs

• Provide group and 1:1 support as needed

• Participate in ARDs and maintain compliance with all regulations

• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary teams

Classroom Details:

• Grade Level: K-8

• Caseload: 10 students (moderate autism, social/emotional disabilities, severe behaviors)

• Schedule: 32.5-hour week (5.5 hours with students, 30 minutes planning, 30-minute lunch)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid state teaching certificate (Special Education required)

• Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)

• Current CPR certification (if applicable)

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest X-ray (if applicable)

• Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
