Job Summary

Summary : Manages the operations of multiple concession stands at once and performs a variety of concession duties while providing a pleasant guest experience at the United Center for events.

The United Center is the largest arena in the United States and is located near the West Side of Chicago, Illinois. The United Center hosts concerts, other events, and is home to the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association.

• Manages the operations of multiple concession stands while assisting team members and maintaining a safe environment throughout operating hours.
• Greets, directs, and responds to guests’ questions and needs.
• Understands menu offerings, presentation, and pricing.
• Ensures proper product control and handling of inventory and equipment.
• Follows point of sale policies and food safety/sanitation guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Specific Duties: (other duties may be assigned)

50% Ensure that Concession Stands run smoothly before, during, and after doors.

15% Assist in making a guest's visit to the United Center a safe and pleasant one regarding Food and Beverage quality and service.

15% Handle any problems concerning inventory, deliveries to stands, credit card machines, and team issues.

15% Monitor appearance standards, food and beverage quality, spoilage, yields, equipment maintenance, ending inventories, and food preparation.

5% Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises Stand Managers, Stand Workers, Bartenders, Cooks, Expediters, Servers, and Runners in a designated part of the building.

Qualifications:

• Availability to work during the event schedule
• Minimum of one year of leadership experience in a food and beverage environment.
• Must have the ability to work with various computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read, analyze, and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, guests, and the general public.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including being able to be on your feet the entire shift, reach with hands and arms, taste, smell, stoop, kneel and crouch
