CNC Machinist
A manufacturing company in Elk Grove Village, IL is looking for a CNC Machinist to join their 1st shift team. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating horizontal and vertical mills and/or lathes to produce quality parts efficiently and independently. This role involves interpreting blueprints, editing programs, selecting tooling, and ensuring all parts meet customer and quality specifications.
Requirements of the CNC Machinist
- Advanced experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Ability to read, modify, and edit CNC programs and enter tool offsets
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Proficient with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators
- Knowledge of raw materials and machining properties (stainless steels, cold rolled steel, etc.)
- Ability to distinguish materials and select appropriate tooling and fixtures
Responsibilities of the CNC Machinist
- Set up jobs accurately and ensure tooling, fixtures, and programs are optimized for production
- Run and oversee multiple machines to maximize efficiency and meet production rates
- Perform secondary operations such as drilling, deburring, and polishing
- Inspect parts for defects and verify dimensions against prints
- Load and unload materials, fixtures, and tooling safely
1st shift, DIRECT HIRE
Pay is $34.00 - $36.00 an hour, based on experience
