The FP&A Analyst, Technology & Infrastructure, plays a critical role in supporting the finance team's strategic and operational decision-making, which would result in overall optimization of revenue and cost for the organization. This position is responsible for measuring cloud cost, assisting in creating financial models, producing insightful reports, and partnering with business units (specifically IT, Product, Sales and Operations) to deliver data-driven analysis. The Analyst will contribute to the finance team’s growth by proactively identifying opportunities, maintaining a high level of accuracy, and demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous learning and impact.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance, Accounting, Economics)
• FinOps certified practitioner preferred
• 2-3 years of experience in FP&A required
• 2-3 years of FinOps cloud experience required
• Familiarity with financial modeling, data analysis, and variance reporting
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, V lookups, basic financial modeling)
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, Sage, SAP, JDEdwards and NetSuite) and BI tools (Power BI and Tableau)
• AWS QuickSight, Kubecost experience preferred
• Solid understanding of financial statements and budgeting/forecasting processes
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Effective communicator with the ability to simplify complex data for non-finance stakeholders
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Ability to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization
• Technology enthusiast demonstrated through work experience, hobbies, and/or education
• Agile Mindset – the ability to work in an iterative manner that allows for rapid prototyping, effective feedback loops, and the ability to meet aggressive timelines

CORE FUNCTIONS

FP&A 70%

Planning & Forecasting

• Contribute to the planning process of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plans using a planning tool, such as (Planful, Vena, Datarails)
• Build and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis, cost tracking, and revenue forecasting.
• Gather and validate assumptions from business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment.

Reporting & Analysis

• Utilize existing solutions to automate monthly departmental reports, delivering clear and actionable variance analysis to highlight department performance indicators.
• Track and explain trends in KPIs, including revenue drivers, margins, and operational metrics.

Business Partnering

• Collaborate with IT, Product, Sales, and Operations to provide timely financial insights and decision support.
• Track and monitor new and existing business cases such as investment on new business initiatives, product launches, and cost optimization opportunities.

FinOps 30%

• Partner with Engineering, Product, and IT to analyze and optimize cloud spend and on-prem spend (AWS)
• Own cloud cost allocation and tagging governance
• Monitor usage-based cost drivers and translate them into forecast assumptions
• Track and validate realized savings from optimization initiatives (rightsizing, reservations, storage lifecycle)
• Build unit cost metrics (e.g., cost per device, user, transaction, or workload)
• Improve cloud spend forecast accuracy and variance explanations
• Utilize AI to implement budget alerts, anomaly detection, and financial guardrails
• Work with IT and Product to support make vs buy and architectural cost trade-off decisions
• Educate stakeholders on cost-aware engineering and financial accountability

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Working conditions as found in a typical office location or a remote office location.
• In-office expectations (Bolingbrook, IL) are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays based on our current in-office operating model. This model can change at any time, and the expectation is that all local team members are able and willing to come into the office on any day of the week, as needed.
• Ability to board a locomotive.

This position's anticipated base salary range is 75,000 to 94,000. . Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and location. Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are in-office days at our corporate office in Bolingbrook, IL.
