Anteprima – Rustic Italian in Andersonville

Anteprima, Andersonville's beloved neighborhood gem at 5316 N Clark St, is seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our team.

We are a cozy, regionally inspired Italian restaurant known for our seasonal, rustic cooking drawn from authentic Italian home recipes. Think housemade pastas, fresh ingredients, a thoughtful wine list, and warm hospitality in a welcoming atmosphere that keeps locals and visitors coming back. Our guests rave about the delicious food, outstanding service, and charming vibe that makes Anteprima feel like a little part of Italy in Chicago.

Dinner-only service — We are closed every Monday and Tuesday, with hours Wednesday–Sunday (5:00 PM openings, closing 8:30 PM or 9:00 PM on Fridays & Saturdays). The restaurant is also closed for the first two weeks in January each year (paid)

What you'll do:

• Lead and develop a talented front-of-house team, fostering a positive, collaborative culture
• Oversee daily operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences every time
• Manage labor, inventory, food costs, and financial performance to drive profitability
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, service quality, and restaurant cleanliness
• Build strong community relationships and help grow our loyal guest base in Andersonville and beyond
• Work closely with ownership to execute seasonal menus and special events

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience as a General Manager or Assistant GM in a full-service restaurant (Italian or upscale casual preferred)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor staff
• Solid understanding of restaurant P&L, cost controls, and inventory management
• Exceptional guest service mindset and problem-solving abilities
• Passion for Italian cuisine, wine, and creating memorable dining experiences
• Availability for dinner service Wednesday–Sunday, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays
• Social media fluency a plus!
