A Week in This Role

Monday: You arrive at a customer site and convene the kickoff for the adapter cell project scope. With design engineering, the Symbotic PM, vendors, and commissioning techs at the table, you clarify deliverables and align expectations.

Tuesday: RFIs come in from contractors. You route them per process SLAs, escalate blockers, and close the loop with clear answers. Meanwhile, you update the Golden Prerequisite (GPR) tool to reflect daily installation progress and commissioning readiness.

Wednesday: Engineering bulletins drop. You translate scope, update the bulletin matrix, and verify work completion. You lead quality reviews and secure checklist 650/630 sign-offs from contractors and vendors.

Thursday: A missing materials issue arises on an adapter cell. You validate the request, document it in the missing material matrix with a root cause, and support FCN validation—reviewing the change, confirming its validity, and assessing resource and cost implications.

Friday: Mechanical and electrical installation is complete. You roll up your sleeves with the commissioning team, offering hands-on trade support where needed to keep each cell on track. You execute Reliability and Performance checklists, confirming system functionality on the path to handoff.

Where You Fit

As part of the Implementation organization’s Site Installation team, you ensure Symbotic automation systems are installed exactly as designed, to a high standard, on schedule, and under budget. The role is highly visible and collaborative—you’ll work across departments and interface with executive leadership.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or a related field (required).
• At least 3 years of trade experience in electrical or automation installation (required).
• Experience supervising teams and managing trade contractors.
• Hands-on exposure to industrial/robotic automation and ASRS initiatives.
• Skill in negotiation and relationship management to reconcile competing priorities.
• Data-driven mindset; you use metrics and analysis to improve processes.
• Critical technical thinking that advances conversations on requirements, design, and process challenges.
• Ability to travel up to 80%.

Travel, Location, and Work Environment

• Hybrid, travel-focused position; proximity to a major airport is preferred.
• Travel up to 80% is required. Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
• Main office is located in Wilmington, MA. Expect extended periods at customer installation sites when equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.
